Web Sites: The good, the bad, and the ugly Things to Avoid in Web Design 1. Be sure to maintain your site to keep links current. 2. Check your spelling and grammar and have another check it too. 3. Avoid long scrolling text if possible, and never make your user scroll sideways for text. 4. Be careful using bright or clashing colors. You can dull brightness by making it less saturated. 5. Many people are annoyed by blinking or animated graphics and text. 6."Under construction signs" are unnecessary. Your user will know it's under construction when it's not there. 7. Watch that your pages are not cluttered and crowded. Clear space around a page allows for easy printing and viewing.
