Legos™ are the greatest
learning tools in the world (this is only my opinion). We
have a ton of Legos™ in the lab. The students learn
mechanical reasoning, simple machines, pneumatics, control
technology, robotics, energy, transmissions, and the list
goes on and on. Besides being enjoyable they are learning a
great deal about the mechanical world around
them.
Another great learning tool is Capsela™.
Capsela™ is a great "toy" for learning about gear
ratios and transmission of power through different angles.
Students build and wire machines that are models of real
life or make believe vehicles. They are challenged to make
slow vehicles, and fast vehicles while understanding that
each have advantages and disadvantages.
