Drawing and Painting

In the technology lab students create their own drawings and paintings with Aldus Superpaint™. They learn about object oriented and bit mapped images. Using the object oriented drawings they learn symmetry and balance. The following are student examples of Superpaint™ activities done the past few years in the technology lab.

An eighth grader at Pioneer Middle School and he created these drawings from scratch, using the Superpaint™ program. His challenge was to design a yearbook cover for our school and an intergalactic spacecraft.

Another project that the 8th graders draw is a treasure map for an uncharted island, a couple examples are below.

Below are examples from the Creative Learning Systems™ module on Superpaint™ all of the following drawings were done free hand with only the mouse to guide them!

On the left is a drawing of an object oriented knight done in the draw layer of the Superpaint™ program. This is an example of symmetry and the use of gradient fills. On the right is a painting done in the paint layer of the program showing an understanding of bit-by-bit images.

The paintings (above) were created with Superpaint™ and the mouse as the painting tool. An eighth grade student created these for a project in the lab. Art and technology go hand in hand in the Technology Lab 2000™.
