Animation Projects

Two eighth grade students in 1996 created this short movie with stop-frame animation techniques. They used an action figure named the Toxic Crusader™ to create the background movements. They then filmed a student from a distance and cut the student out of each frame and pasted him in with the monster. It creates a very crude but realistic impression of the student being munched up by the creature.

The movie is 1.0 Mb compressed, so you need a bit of RAM to create the stop frame animations in color. I used the program Movie Cleaner Lite™ to compress the movie and then used Movie Player 2.5™ to save it as a self contained movie. Then just to make sure I used the freeware Internet Movie Tool on a batch of movies to get them ready to post on the web. The grayscale movies are much more managable.
